11 months!

My sweet little Silly Millie, how are you already 11 months old? It is so hard for me to believe that in less than a month we will be celebrating your birthday. An entire year of you being here. And holy wow, what a year it has been. Back to this past month, though. You have changed SO MUCH over the past month! It is amazing to watch all of these changes that you go through, and some of them have been so small that they are barely noticed. But this month? Wow. Just…wow.

The first big change? Movement. Lots and lots of movement. You crawl everywhere, you pull yourself up on everything, you cruise along anything you can get your hands on (and reach out for our fingers if you run out of things to grab), and you even stand alone for a few seconds. It won’t be long before you are running!

You started talking so much this month, too. You say mama, dada, dog and try to say bottle. If we say “no”, you either cry or laugh depending on how serious we are.  You know exactly when you are doing something you aren’t supposed to be doing and you just look at us with the biggest smile I have ever seen. I have a feeling we are going to be in trouble during your teenage years.

Your eating habits pretty much changed overnight. I could barely get you to even put a noodle or “normal” food in your mouth and then one day you decided that it was awesome and that’s all you want. Fresh fruit, pancakes, chicken, hamburger and salmon are you favorites! You still don’t have any teeth, but that doesn’t stop your appetite! I swear the minute I buy you clothes you grow out of them, I’m going to have to start buying 5 sizes bigger I think.

You absolutely love being outside. The sun shining on your chubby little cheeks plus the wind blowing through your curls equals a super happy little girl! I am so happy that you like being outdoors. I have a feeling that you are going to love exploring at Oma and Papa’s house when you are older. The heat doesn’t even bother you very much (unless you are trying to sleep, then you are just like your mama!).

You, my dear sweet Cheeks Malone, are quite the little fishy. Baths, pools, running water…it doesn’t matter. If it’s water, you are happy as a clam. Your Papa bought you this ridiculously big pool that took Mama a long, long time to fill, but it was totally worth it because you loved every second that your were in it. I can’t wait to take you to a big pool for the first time to see how you like it. I’m pretty sure that might be heaven for you.

Mama and Papa love you so very much, Miss Amelia. We have one more month full of Father’s Day, birthdays, the College World Series and your Mama and Papa’s anniversary and then we get to celebrate your birthday! And oh, what a celebration that will be… 🙂
