an irish blessing

Last weekend, we were finally able to host a blessing for Amelia at our house. It was absolutely perfect. Our wonderful friend Paul that we just visited in Colorado came to town for a wedding and it worked out that when he was free, almost our entire families could get together at the same time. Talk about timing. Despite it being a cold, rainy and very early morning, we couldn’t have asked for a better day. Everyone came as they wanted, chatted, ate breakfast pizza and had coffee and bloody mary’s. When there was a lull in the conversation, we gathered everyone in the living room and started the blessing. It felt like one of the many cool crisp mornings we spent in Ireland and it was so perfectly us. Thank you Paul, for the fantastic ceremony. Everything you included was so, so meaningful. It means so much to us that you have always been there for us, and you continue to do so with open, loving arms. Thank you to our families for waking up so early on a Saturday to join us in celebrating Amelia. Thank you, Katie, for being our photographer for the morning. And a very special thank you to Andy and Kailey for being Amelia’s Godparents, we are honored to have had you there for her.
